Harvest time at LaSalle

The entire LaSalle community officially ushered the Fall season in on October 31st with a day-long Harvest Fest sponsored by our PBIS team! Turn in any direction and you observed youth eating doughnuts, participating in field games and arts and craft activities. During October, two visits from central staff working for the NYS Senate and Assembly occurred at LaSalle. Organized and coordinated by COFCCA, the purpose was for reps to obtain an overview of the work child welfare agencies do and the populations served. NYS staff also visited St. Catherine’s Center for Children and Families and St. Anne Institute to learn about agencies caring for both boys and girls as well as all age groups. Caring for a culturally diverse residential population

On October 18th, Heather LaForme, Director of OCFS’ Bureau of Native American Services came to LaSalle to present two sessions intended to provide staff guidance on working with Native American Youth in a residential treatment center. Albany Police Chief Hawkins visits

On September 28th, Albany Police Chief Eric Hawkins visited LaSalle. Chief Hawkins learned about LaSalle’s Albany County juvenile and family reporting center program as well as the agency’s therapeutic treatment programs from a variety of administrative and clinical staff.
