    Juvenile Reporting Family Center

    The purpose of the Juvenile Reporting and Family (JRFC) is to introduce at-risk adolescents to skills, activities, and opportunities; tap into their strengths and foster appropriate peer and adult relationships; and help them become successful members of their community. The LaSalle site serves males ages 13-16. This Alternative to Detention and Prevention program provides for Albany County youth known to probation, who live at home and attend local schools, a supervised, structured array of enrichment recreational activities during high-risk evening hours. The program is built upon the strategies of Positive Youth Development.

    Responsibilities include providing individual, family and group counseling services for residential students and their families; experience working with at-risk JD/PINS adolescents and their families, providing family counseling, support and linkages to natural and community based supports; experience working with a treatment and team based service system; knowledge of NYS OCFS Connections electronic record system.

    Child Care Counselors [Direct Care]

  • Responsibilities include care and supervision of students in their residential setting. The Child Care Counselor is responsible for providing a safe, therapeutic residential experience for all children.

    Overview of Position:
    The Night Child Care Worker is responsible for the active and effective supervision and care of residents in their assigned division. Awake and alert, situated where the movement and activities of residents can be closely observed, providing for the safety of everyone. The Child Care Worker works overnight hours and during early morning hours, assuring the routine and procedures of the division are followed. The Child Care Worker monitors the safety and well being of all residents during sleeping hours and directs them through their morning routine. Worker must be familiar with the ICMP, treatment issues, and safety plans of residents in their division. Must effectively implement all aspects of active supervision, and established behavior management strategies. Must be familiar with the use of all technology which allows for the security of the environment and the exchange of information with supervisors and colleagues.

  • Registered Nurse, Part Time

  • LaSalle’s School is seeking to hire a Part Time Registered Nurse to join our nursing team of professionals serving the needs of our youth. Our nursing staff is responsible for the overview of the health care needs of all students of LaSalle. Decisions and responsibility for the care of the students are met by the nurse in consultation with other ancillary providers and clinicians as needed. This position will be scheduled to work 15 – 20 hours per week and will be required to work 2 – 3 shifts per week on a rotating schedule which will include weekends.

    Mandatory Qualifications:
     Registered Nurse with current New York State License who adheres to guidelines within the NYS Nurse Practice Act.

    Desired Qualifications:
     Minimum of 5 years nursing experience is preferred.
     Experience working with children and/or adolescents in a residential setting is desired.
     Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and must possess the ability to triage as assessment indicates.

    General Responsibilities/Duties:
     Providing nursing care to male adolescents in a residential setting.
     Providing immediate first aid and triage and refer as needed for appropriate treatment.
     Demonstrates ability to delegate assignments to other team members.
     To administer immunizations as per La Salle protocol and in accordance with N.Y.S. Health Laws.
     Acts as community liaison with outside providers and advocate for timely delivery of health care.
     Assist other agency team members in providing medical, emotional, and psychological support to students in various stages of crisis.
     To administer all medications and perform all treatments ordered by MD in a timely and diligent manner.

     To assess students and use professional nursing judgment in the treatment of students and refer appropriately as needed.

     Must demonstrate flexibility in scheduling in the event of emergencies, or in times of increased workload which may include coverage of alternate shifts.

    Necessary Job Skills:

Attention to detail is an essential job skill. Requires ability to work independently and respond to a variety of medical situations.     To continue as a multi-faceted human services agency leader, LaSalle School is seeking to hire an Associate Executive Director – Finance to join our leadership team and serve as an integral part of agency-wide strategic planning. This position is responsible for the direction and oversight of all financial activities for the agency including financial analysis, preparation of current and forecast financial reports, program and revenue development, short and long-term financial goals, development of financial policies and procedures, and compliance with federal and state authorities. LaSalle seeks a visionary financial leader who understands the dynamics of both generating revenue and managing expenses. The AED will work closely with the Executive Director to develop and maintain sound financial practices for the agency.

    Essential Responsibilities:
     Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance.
     Direct and oversee the timely preparation, analysis, and review of financial reports and trends. This includes, but is not limited to income statements, balance sheets, reports to Board of Directors, tax returns, regulatory reporting, and credit position.
     Provide oversight and direction to the Finance and Human Resource departments, including hiring, planning and assigning work, rewards and discipline, performance management, problem resolution, development and guidance, training, and strategic direction.
     Coordinate the budget process and develop continual improvement of the process with the leadership team and department heads.
     Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures for the agency in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory laws, as well as accreditation standards.
     Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other members of the senior management team in performing their responsibilities. Provide education where applicable.
     Oversight of agency risk management functions, including insurance and other asset protection programs.
     Enhance, develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the agency’s financial and contractual management.
     Ensure prudent management of the agency’s funds by optimizing the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position, develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism which includes minimum cash thresholds to meet operating needs.
     Remain up to date on nonprofit audit best practices and state and federal laws relating to nonprofits.
     Coordinate preparation for external audits and filing of tax returns and ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and documentation in compliance with statutory requirements and agency policies.
     Responsible for maintaining all agency accounting and reporting.
     Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the agency. This may include evaluating alliance opportunities, strategic planning, new service / program offerings, pension funds and investments, and organizational change.
     Analyze and provide expertise from a financial perspective on any contract or agreement into which the agency enters.
     Provide leadership and maintain strong relationships with senior management team to identify department and program needs and provide comprehensive short and long-term strategic financial solutions.
     Display a professional, courteous, and caring attitude at all times toward internal and external parties to the agency
     Thorough understanding and compliance with agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
     Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    LaSalle is seeking a candidate with a minimum of ten (10) years of progressive financial experience, preferably in non-profit financial management and/or leadership. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree, MBA, and/or CPA strongly preferred. Must have a minimum of five (5) years nonprofit senior management, associated reporting, auditing, and budgeting. Candidates should be comfortable with Managed Care contracts and episodic billing. Successful candidates will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to persuade, present to groups, lead and develop teams, and hold productive meetings. Must possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop relationships internally and externally. Applicants must be proficient in MS Suite and financial software applications.

    The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader and financial executive with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the non-profit environment. Must understand fundamental accounting principles such as GAAP, CFRs, etc. Must have ability to manage and oversee multiple functional operational units such as Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and/or Facilities.
