    Our highly credentialed team of clinicians provide state of the art, trauma informed, evidence based treatment services for youth and families along a continuum of care.     Therapist/Social Worker

  • LaSalle’s School is seeking to hire a full time experienced and dedicated Therapist/ Social Worker (MSW, LMSW) to join our Clinical team of professionals serving the needs of our youth across residential and outpatient programming. Our programs are fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation, a highly regarded independent national accrediting body for organizations in child welfare. Our most recent review in stated that our entire organization “is a model and a leader for other like agencies in the state and nation.” The Therapist will provide comprehensive clinical and case management services to assigned adolescents and families in any of LaSalle School’s program areas.

    Mandatory Qualifications:
     Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
     Minimum NYS License (LMSW, LMHC) required within six (6) months of hire
     Experience with adolescents and family services
     Demonstrates motivation to positively support agency mission, philosophy and expectations
    Desired Qualifications:
     LCSW, LCSW-R
     Experience with foster care/ residential treatment center services, outpatient mental health/ substance abuse, juvenile justice, and special educational services
     Familiarity with complex trauma, sexual abuse (victim and perpetrator), chemical dependency, and mental health.
    General Responsibilities/Duties:
     Provides comprehensive evaluations, treatment planning, and individual, family and group counseling services to youth and families as assigned
     Acts as primary clinical liaison and resource to assigned treatment team to foster effective and individualized treatment interventions across multiple disciplines and program areas
     Coordinates services with all internal and external collateral providers in keeping with OCFS, DSS, family court standards for youth in foster care
     Knowledge of and adherence to the code of ethics and standards applicable to credential and work duties.
     Supports all agency efforts to provide quality treatment services
     Engage in professional development

    The purpose of the Juvenile Reporting and Family (JRFC) is to introduce at-risk adolescents to skills, activities, and opportunities; tap into their strengths and foster appropriate peer and adult relationships; and help them become successful members of their community. The LaSalle site serves males ages 13-16. This Alternative to Detention and Prevention program provides for Albany County youth known to probation, who live at home and attend local schools, a supervised, structured array of enrichment recreational activities during high-risk evening hours. The program is built upon the strategies of Positive Youth Development.

  • FAIS Coordinator

  • FAMILY ASSESSMENT AND INTERVENTION SERVICE (FAIS) COORDINATOR

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience
    • Valid NYS driver’s license and vehicle
    • Awareness of operations of Family Court and the Juvenile Justice System in NYS
    • Commitment to the mission and values of LaSalle School

    Other desired qualifications:
    • BSW or related field
    • Experience with working with JD/PINS youth and their families within child welfare and juvenile justice systems
    • Experience with treatment teams, service and discharge planning
    • Knowledge of community resources and child development
    • Interviewing, assessment and crisis management skills
    • Experience using NYS Connections System

    Overview:
    The Family Assessment Specialist would develop working relationships with the County staff, Court staff and Attorneys for the Child. That individual will complete the assessments and reports, and a working knowledge of the variety of assessment instruments which are available to them as part of the assessment process. Family Assessment Specialist would prepare and present to Family Court a Safety Plan which would allow a youth to remain in the community. This Specialist will work with all parties to address barriers to a youth remaining at home, and will be aware of reasons an initial safety plan allowing that to happen is rejected by the Judge. Strong family and youth engagement skills are essential, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. The FAIS represents LaSalle School and its mission, and will at times, be available for youth and families who will be in court for JRFC placement or RTC placement. The Family Assessment Specialist will work closely and guide ATD Monitors to support youth/family successes.

    General Responsibilities and Duties
    • Communicate and work as a member of the Family Assessment Intervention Service.
    • Complete intake and tracking documentation
    • Interview youth and family to assess and identify risks to re-arrest, and any barriers to appearing at next court date.
    • Prepare FAI Safety plan to be presented in court.
    • Prepare reports of findings to include recommendations and referrals when appropriate.
    • Responsive to the family’s needs, linking them to community and natural resources to increase protective factors.
    • Represent the program at Court appearances, Probation, DCYF, as needed/required.
    • Conduct mental health and substance abuse screenings utilizing recognized and approved screening instrument
    • Professional completion of all casework documentation, including assessments, recommendations, referrals, FTMs
    • Weekly Case Review meetings with ATD Monitors.
    • Represents LSS’s position and recommendations at legal proceedings as needed

    Responsibilities include providing individual, family and group counseling services for residential students and their families; experience working with at-risk JD/PINS adolescents and their families, providing family counseling, support and linkages to natural and community based supports; experience working with a treatment and team based service system; knowledge of NYS OCFS Connections electronic record system.

    Youth Development Specialists [Direct Care]

  • Responsibilities include care and supervision of students in their residential setting. The Child Care Counselor is responsible for providing a safe, therapeutic residential experience for all children.

    Available Shifts:
    Full Time Days includes evening and weekend hours

    Math Teacher

  • LaSalle School, a Human Service agency in Albany, is seeking to hire a full time NYS Certified Math Teacher to work in our Educational Services Department to teach the Math curriculum to 9th – 12th graders. Our Educational Services are delivered in a NYS Certified Special Education setting. We are a trauma informed provider working with adolescent males placed by Family Court and/or their home school district’s Committee on Special Education. Our faculty are an important component of our Treatment Teams, and support the educational and therapeutic needs of our students.

    Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Assistant Supervisor of Day Services

  • The Assistant Supervisor of the Day Service Educational Program under the direction of the Assistant Director of Educational Services for Curriculum and Instruction/ Day Services, assures the Day Service program meets the needs of students. They chair progress conferences and assure all pertinent staff, guardians and service providers are invited. They will keep all supporting service providers involved informed about the child’s progress. They supervise the Day Service Student Coordinator who is responsible for the Day Room and day to day student needs. They review referrals acquiring proper documentation prior to presenting to the Day Services Educational Program Supervisor. They set up intake meetings following up as needed. They participate in pre-placement interviews, and complete all admission documentation; assuring referrals receive prompt attention. They maintain a running log of referrals and their outcomes. The Assistant Supervisor of the Day Service Educational Program assures that the Day Service program incorporates all aspects of TCI, PBIS, ICMPs and that students are informed about these aspects of our program. They will implement truancy prevention strategies to support our youth attendance. They assure all Day Service students have access to all necessary supplies to fully participate in the educational program, including school uniforms. They work with the Day Service team and others to encourage parent/guardian involvement in scheduled parent support programs and other agency activities, through regular communication with them and as a part of planning those events. They assure school districts receive student updates and monthly attendance.

    General Responsibilities/Duties:
    • Oversees Day Service Student Coordinator and all Day Service Students
    • Conducts and assists with review, assessment and acceptance of Day Services referrals
    • Coordinates efforts with Residential Case Managers regarding student transitions from residential services to day services.
    • Attends all Day Service students LEA/CSE reviews
    • Assures supports and interventions are in place to minimize truancy and support student success
    • Works as member of the Day Services Educational Team
    • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

    Qualifications – Required:
    • NYS Certification Special Education or Certification in Related Field
